Symantec Japan Website Bamboozled by Hacker

A Symantec-run website was vulnerable to Blind SQL Injection problems that reportedly exposes a wealth of potentially sensitive information.

Romanian hacker Unu used off-the-shelf tools (Pangolin and sqlmap) to steal a glimpse at the database behind Symantec's Japanese website. A peek at the Symantec store revealed by the hack appears to show clear-text passwords associated with customer records. Product keys held on a Symantec server in Japan were also exposed by the hack.

Unu has previously exposed similar problems involving the websites of the UK's parliament and Kaspersky, among many others.

The grey-hat hacker has published screenshots to back up his latest claims which, if verified, run deeper than shortcomings on the websites of Kaspersky, F-secure and other security firms previously reported by Unu.

Symantec said it was investigating the reported breach, which Unu claims gave him full disk and database access. The security giant said the vulnerability only affected a website used by consumer customers in the Far East. Symantec admitted there was a problem without commenting on how serious the snafu might be, pending the result of an investigation. The offending site - pcd.symantec.com - has been taken offline pending the addition of extra security defences.

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified at pcd.symantec.com. The Web site facilitates customer support for users of Symantec's Norton-branded products in Japan and South Korea only. This incident does not affect Symantec customers anywhere else in the world.

This incident impacts customer support in Japan and South Korea but does not affect the safety and usage of Symantec's Norton-branded consumer products.

Symantec is currently in the process of updating the Web site with appropriate security measures and will bring it back online as soon as possible. Symantec is still investigating the incident and has no further details to share at this time.

SQL injection flaws lie at the heart of all the security problems reported by Unu. The class of vulnerability in general makes it possible to trick back-end databases into handing over potentially sensitive data in response to commands appended onto the end of URLs entered into a browser.

Attacks based on Blind SQL Injection can be labour intensive, reports Gunter Ollmann, VP of research at Damballa, whose blog entry explained that attacks hunting for these types of web security vulnerability are beginning to be automated by botnets. "[This] means that exploitation of these vulnerabilities and enumeration of the the database data can be conducted in a few minutes - way before a security team can actively respond to the attack and close down the breach and loss of confidential data.

In this example, we will be working on such a HDD :

Windows a_ : 40go ; system type : HPFS/NTFS ; partition : dev/hda1
Free Space : 120go ;

We are going to use the 120go free space in order to create a 20go partition. We will install BT3F on this new 20go partition.

I - Partition and Format
a/ CFDISK

Invoke cfdisk in order to create your 20 go partition :

# cfdisk

After having partitioned your HDD with cfdisk, you might need to reboot your computer to have read/write access over your new partition (here, dev/hda5) ! Indeed, without any reboot, you might be unable to fomat the partition to reiserfs with mkreiserfs.


b/ MKREISERFS

Use mkreiserfs in order to format your new partition into an ReiserFS File System. In this example, we assume that BT3F will be installed on /dev/hda*. Replace * by the letter corresponding to the partition you want to format.

Invoke this command to format /dev/hda* to an ReiserFS File System :

# mkreiserfs /dev/hda*

Please do not create an Ext2 file system, but an ReiserFS one.

Installing BackTrack 3 Final on an Ext2 File System will cause a system check at every startup :

/dev/hda* was not cleanly unmounted, check forced.

c/ MOUNT

We will create a folder (via mkdir) and mount (via mount) the new partition (/dev/hda*) in this new folder (mnt/backtrack).

In step II, we will use this emplacement to install BackTrack 3 Final on the HDD with the Installer which was provided with BackTrack 3 Beta.

Create your backtrack Folder and mount mnt/hda* in it :

# umount /dev/hda*
# cd /
# mkdir mnt/backtrack
# mount /dev/hda* /mnt/backtrack

II - Installing BackTrack 3 Final

Now that your HDD is partitioned, you can install BT3F manually, see :

But in this tutorial, we will install BackTrack 3 Final automatically with the Installer which was provided with BackTrack 3 Beta, since BackTrack 3 Final does not come with any installer.

a/ Download the BackTrack Installer here :

b/ Launch the installer

- Install BackTrack to : /mnt/bactrack
- Select Installation method : Real
- Do not restore Original MBR after lilo

III - Booting BT3F and configurating LILO

Now backtrack is installed on your HDD, reboot and cross your fingers. The LILO Boot menu should show up at startup but you will notice that you will be unable to boot Windows or any other OS than BackTrack.

To be able to boot Windows, you have to make changes in the etc/lilo.conf file:

# cd /
# nano /etc/lilo.conf

This method of installation is the simplest available. The assumption is that the whole hard drive is going to be used for BackTrack.

  1. Boot BackTrack on the machine to be installed. Once booted, type in “startx” to get to the KDE graphical interface.
  2. Double click the “install.sh” script on the desktop, or run the command “ubiquity” in console.
  3. Select your geographical location and click “forward”. Same for the Keyboard layout.
  4. The next screen allows you to configure the partitioning layout. The assumption is that we are deleting the whole drive and installing BackTrack on it.
  5. Accept the installation summary and client “Install”. Allow the installation to run and complete. Restart when done.
  6. Log into BackTrack with the default username and password root / toor. Change root password.
  7. Fix the framebuffer splash by typing “fix-splash” ( or “fix-splash800″ if you wish a 800×600 framebuffer), reboot.

buat teman-teman yang pngen meng-install backtrack 3 final live ke hard-disk.

Langkah PERTAMA:
Penjelasan: Pastikan bahwa anda sudah membuat partisi root (/) untuk BackTrack dengan filesystem ReiserFS. Jika komputer anda hanya memiliki satu sistem operasi (WINDOWS dalam hal ini), maka gunakan Partition Magic.

Jika belum ada program ini, install terlebih dahulu. Buatlah 2 partisi dengan konfigurasi sebagai berikut ini:


* Partisi pertama: Dengan size 5 GB (bebas saja asalkan tidak kurang dari 3.5 GB), berikan label /BACKTRACK3, pilih filesystem ext3

* Partisi kedua: Dengan size 2 kali jumlah physical memory komputer anda (Jika anda punya RAM 512 MB, maka sizenya adalah 1 GB. Jika RAM anda 2 GB, maka size nya 2 GB), berikan label /SWAP, pilih filesystem SWAP.

Lalu RESTART KOMPUTER ANDA dan mulai mem-booting CD LIVE BACKTRACK 3 Final!

Jika komputer anda belum memiliki operasi sistem, maka itu akan sangat lebih mudah lagi. Yang anda butuhkan adalah tools, seperti HIREN dan lain-lain. Maksud saya adalah anda harus membuat partisi dahulu sebelum mulai menginstall BackTrack 3 Final ini. Namun, anda tidak butuh HIREN atau apapun itu jika anda sudah berkemampuan menggunakan commands dalam konsole/terminal linux. Melalui CD Live BackTrack 3 Final, anda dapat buat sendiri partisi yang diperlukan. Jangan lupa RESTART KOMPUTER ANDA dan mulai mem-booting CD LIVE BACKTRACK 3 Final!

Jika komputer anda sudah terinstall satu atau lebih Distro LINUX, maka gunakan tools partition editor dalam linux anda untuk mengkreasikan partisi /BACKTRACK3. Dalam hal ini, anda tidak perlu repot lagi membuat partisi SWAP karena multiple booting Linux dapat menggunakan SATU partisi SWAP saja. Jika partisi sudah di buat, jangan lupa RESTART KOMPUTER ANDA dan mulai mem-booting CD LIVE BACKTRACK 3 Final!


Langkah KEDUA:
Penjelasan: Setelah anda booting CD LIVE BACKTRACK 3 Final, anda sudah masuk dalam BackTRack 3 system. Buka konsole/terminal dalam BackTrack 3. Kita akan memeriksa partisi-partisi apa saja yang ter-mount dalam BackTrack saat ini.

Gunakan command ini:
# mount

Anda akan memperoleh informasi tentang semua partisi harddisk yang ter-mount dalam BackTrack! Termasuk partisi baru yang sudah anda buat. Ini INFORMASI PENTING untuk langkah selanjutnya!

Penjelasan:
Langkah selanjutnya, gunakan perintah (command) mkreiserfs dalam rangka memformat partisi baru (ingat pada 2 partisi yang telah dibuat dalam Windows, atau partisi yang sudah anda buat dalam Linux).
Partisi baru kita itu harus diformat sebagai ReiserFS File System. Jika anda menggunakan Ext2 File System, maka sistem operasi BackTrack 3 Final ini akan melakukan check sistem setiap kali startup!

Contohnya:
/dev/sda* was not cleanly unmounted, check forced.
/dev/sda*: |======= \ 60.0%
Dalam tutor ini, saya mengasumsikan bahwa BT3 Final akan diinstall pada /dev/sda*. Silahkan anda ganti tanda * menjadi angka yang menunjukkan partisi /BACKTRACK3 yang sudah dibuat itu. Silakan ganti juga sda menjadi hda jika harddisk anda demikian. Lihat kembali hasil dari perintah mount tadi.

Gunakan command berikut ini:
# mkreiserfs /dev/sda* ------> GANTI TANDA * menjadi angka yang menunjukkan partisi root untuk BT3 (/BACKTRACK3) dan gantikan sda menjadi hda jika partisi anda demikian.


Langkah KETIGA:

Penjelasan: Kita harus membuat sebuah folder. Fungsi folder ini adalah sebagai tempat untuk me-mount partisi baru itu --->> /dev/sda* atau (/BACKTRACK3)

Gunakan commands berikut ini:
# umount /dev/sda* ----->> Ingat, GANTIKAN tanda * menjadi angka yang menunjukkan partisi /BACKTRACK3 anda dan gantikan sda menjadi hda jika partisi anda demikian

# cd /
# mkdir mnt/backtrack
# mount /dev/sda* /mnt/backtrack


Langkah KEEMPAT:
Penjelasan: Instalasi otomatis akan dieksekusi. Kita akan menggunakan Installer yang tersedia di dalam BackTrack 3 Beta karena BT3 Final tidak mengikutsertakan installer-nya.

Download BackTrack Installer Download COMPUTER HACKING | FORENSIC | NETWORKING (caranya: klik kanan pada link download, lalu pilih Save Link As)

Lalu, klik 2 kali installer itu dan akan segera muncul jendela installer untuk mulai install secara otomatis.

INGAT INI BAIK-BAIK:
- Install BackTrack ke : /mnt/bactrack
- Select Installation method : Real
- Do not restore Original MBR after lilo


Langkah KELIMA:

Penjelasan: Tekan Close jika installation process sudah lengkap! Saatnya anda reboot komputer. Tekan log out dan ketikkan reboot agar komputer anda booting kembali. Anda sudah tidak butuh CD LIVE BT3 Final lagi.


Langkah KEENAM:

Penjelasan: Anda sudah berada dalam sistem operasi BackTrack 3 Final yang terinstall pada harddisk! Saatnya untuk mengkonfigurasikan lilo.conf agar komputer dapat mem-booting OS lain selain BT3 Final.

Gunakan command berikut ini:
# cd /
# nano /etc/lilo.conf

Tampilan yang muncul adalah seperti di bawah ini,

Jika anda berniat menginstall Distro linux lainnya setelah menginstall BT3, katakanlah seperti Ubuntu, openSUSE, Fedora, dan sebagainya... Maka, konfigurasi loader komputer anda sudah pasti akan diatur oleh GRUB, bukan LILO lagi. Dengan catatan, setting GRUB (loader linux selain LILO) pada ketika menginstall distro-distro linux lainnya adalah pada MASTER BOOT RECORD!

Berikut ini adalah contoh file GRUB dalam komputer saya di mana terdapat 4 sistem operasi, masing-masing adalah openSUSE, Ubuntu, BT3, dan Windows XP.

Guide to RUNNING

1. Posture
-badan tegak, tulang pungung tetap pada posisi "S" naturalnya
-otot bahu relax, tangan di ayun secukupnya.

2. Pernapasan
-sewaktu mulai sampai sebisanya, napas panjang masuk dari hidung keluar dari hidung
-setelah itu sebisanya, napas normal masuk dari hidung keluar dari hidung
--setelah itu sebisanya,, napas pendek masuk dari hidung keluar dari hidung
-setelah itu masuk hidung, keluar mulut
-JANGAN PERNAH masuk mulut keluar mulut (hyperventilation bisa buat pusing/pingsan)
*pola nafas yang salah akan mengakibatkan terbentuknya Lactic acid di kaki

2.Pace (basa indonesianya apa ya? kayak detak/tempo langkah kaki)
ini adalah hal yang paling penting untuk dicari dan di atur,
Pace dibantu dengan good Posture dan proper Breathing (pernapasan) akan membuat jarak sejauh apapun berhasil.

ingat..yang di percepat bukan langkahnya, tapi nafasnya.
Pace yang sudah ditentukan akan terus di pake sampai volume hirup nafasnya sudah lebih besar.

Pace akan meningkat dengan progress.

setiap kali latihan..hitung menit berlari, bukan jarak berlari

contoh 15menit hari ini bisa 6 kali putaran
2 mingu depan udah progress jadi 15menit 9 kali putaran,

lalu tambah menitnya jadi 20..dan seterusnya.

kalo ingin berlari lama (marathon) pastikan pace yang kita ikuti itu masih di dalam aerobic level, bukan di anaerobic.
kalo gua mau taroh semua yang dah dipelajari dari semua bekal latihan lari ku bakal ngambil waktu terlalu lama. T_T 7 bulan latihan gak
mungkin bisa ditaro di satu posting kan..

How to become and learn Parkour?

Parkour is, in a sense, the art of using your environment as an obstacle course. It's not all jumping off of walls and scaling buildings. Follow these steps to safely learn Parkour, and overcome obstacles by applying it to your life!

Step.
Learn how to do a shoulder roll/judo roll (ex. roll from right shoulder to left hip or left shoulder to right hip) (not a somersault). This is the most important move in Parkour, as it is essential for landing jumps while preserving your forward momentum, allowing you to continue running. There are a few variations to the roll, such as the dive roll, but remember, Parkour is not as easy as it looks. A roll in Parkour is meant to 'flow', allowing you to preserve your forward momentum and continue running. While you may think you have 'mastered' the roll, remember to keep practicing the basics, even once you have gone far beyond them

1. Find other Traceurs or Traceuses in your area, and attend a jam session to learn
from them before attempting anything big. If you are just beginning with
Parkour, this is one of the best ways to go, because learning straight from
others is much better than watching videos on YouTube.
2. Practice, practice, practice! There's no such thing as practicing too much.
3. Condition! Parkour, while a great work out in itself, is not enough to keep
going, if you want to get better, you need to condition your body. Go for runs,
go to the gym, et cetera. Also, your body, namely your knees, take a lot of
impact. You want to condition them to be able to take the abuse.
4. While practicing in a controlled environment to get the moves down is good,
parkour is spontaneous, and once you get the general feel of the moves, go for a
run, and learn to apply Parkour in any
situation.
5. Parkour is also about knowing your limits, if you don't think you can do
something, practice small, and
work your way up to it!

Tips&hints
• Remember that Parkour is the art of free movement, so don't be afraid of any
obstacles: Climb, Vault, Precision jump or Leap the obstacle (only if you feel
comfortable enough to attempt it.)
• If you don't feel 100% confident with a new move practice it more on grass or mats
until your comfortable. Remember, Parkour is NOT about jumping off tall objects.
That just causes a lot of injuries.
• KNOW YOUR LIMITS! Dont try and show off in front of your friends and do the most
dumbest thing you can think of.
• You can also go on Youtube.com and other websites to learn new moves.
• To begin, practice at your home, schools or even your backyard, these are nice
spots to learn movements.
• Dont be afraid to try new movement. Failure leads to success!
• Freerunning is a little different from Parkour because Freerunning involves more
aesthetic moves, where as Parkour is based solely around moving between points
quickly.

Warnings
• Parkour is dangerous if practiced recklessly, and safety should always be a
concern. Having friends around to watch your back isn't a bad thing.
• Start slow, and build up
• Sometimes, law enforcement and property owners won't let you practice in certain
areas because of
liability. Respect this and find a new training ground.

that do not help in Parkour.
• Be careful of which friends you choose to do Parkour with since most of them will
not be loyal and stick
with you through the hard times especially when you get injured.
• Don't use parkour to do anything illegal. Apply it usefully to real life
situations such as getting somewhere on time or getting away from an attacker.
